Update 02/18: Pasha still has not been found. As it has been nearly two weeks now, we are sure that if he is alive, he has been taken in by a family somewhere. Please continue to keep an eye out for our special boy. Because Pasha is an 'escape artist', he could very easily have been with two or more families by this time. We will never stop searching for Pasha, and we will never give up hope...we're praying that he has been taken in by someone who does not know that he is someone's beloved companion. If you have a website, please post his ad (below), and please spread the word by telling your family and friends about Pasha and the $1,000 reward.
Update 02/13: There is a chance that Pasha was spotted near the Old Feed House restaurant on Arkansas Boulevard on Thursday night. Please remember to tell everyone you know about Pasha - because of health problems, we are not able to post flyers in as wide an area as we'd like, though we have tried to contact all shelters within a 50 mile radius. Kids, especially, are really good at finding lost dogs -- be sure to let everyone know that our reward isn't just for adults; it will go to ANYONE who finds Pasha and gets him back to us!

About Pasha

Here is the story so far: at approximately 10 pm, Feb. 5th, Pasha slipped out through an open gate in his backyard. This gate was ordinarily locked from the INSIDE, but someone had unlocked it, allowing him to escape. Shortly before he went outside, he was barking frantically, which he doesn't normally do, so we think he may have heard someone in the backyard. We did not notice that the gate was unlocked when we let him out. The moment we realized he was missing, we spent hours driving around looking for him, and found nothing. (We have since learned that he was spotted a mile or so away, playing with two other dogs - at first we thought Pasha might have been stolen, but this seems to indicate that he simply decided to go on an adventure after finding the gate unlocked.).

Pasha is a purebred American Eskimo; he was adopted from a rescue group several years ago. His family is utterly devastated by his loss.

We are offering a substantial reward to anyone who can give us information that leads to his safe and healthy return. However, because there are many unscrupulous people out there, we want to stress that we will provide a reward ONLY upon his safe return. Once he is safely home in the arms of his loved ones, we will happily and gratefully pay the reward, with our deepest thanks and with no questions. You have our word on this.

Please, if you have any information, contact us. You may email me, or you may call Pasha's mother Lisa at 903 223 0176 (please leave a message if no one answers). Not knowing is the hardest part. We would rather have sad news than no news, so if you think you may have bad news for us, please don't hold back in an attempt to spare us. We simply need to know where our beautiful boy is, and we are hoping that very soon, he will be back home.

IF YOU THINK YOU HAVE FOUND PASHA - please be warned that he is an 'escape artist'. This is an Eskie trait; he will NOT be good about staying in one place. If a door is opened, he'll dash through it. If you've found a dog that looks like Pasha, please bring him inside and put him in a secure location before contacting us. However, do not tie him up, as this will frighten him and he might hurt himself trying to pull free.

Pasha does have a collar and tag, but they may be hard to spot under his beautiful white fur. If you've found a dog with no collar, it may still be our boy; he could have lost the collar or, if he was stolen, the person who took him could have removed it. If he's been running around outside for a while, he may not look the same as he does in the pictures. Pasha is much smaller than he appears, because his fur is so thick; he's actually a small, thin dog. He does not have many distinguishing features other than his beautiful, thick white fur - however, if someone decided to keep him, it's possible they could decide to shave him. A shaved Pasha will look VERY different from the pictures above! He will be surprisingly small and thin, but you may still be able to identify him based on his pure white fur, black nose, and pointy upright ears.

Pasha does have a habit of baring his teeth at people while playing -- this is NOT a sign of aggression! This is just his way of 'smiling' at people. Pasha is very friendly, smart and exuberant, but not at all hostile. He loves other dogs and will want to play with them.

We are heartbroken and frantic.
PLEASE HELP BRING PASHA HOME!!

Update 02/09: It is possible that Pasha was spotted Friday morning near Summerhill Road. The lady who saw him said that later, she saw a dog on the freeway near the Summerhill Rd. exit; this dog had been killed, and for several hours we thought this was Pasha. However, when we checked the freeway and found the poor dog who'd been hit, we learned it was NOT Pasha. So, we are still operating under the assumption that Pasha is alive and waiting to come home. Please remember to tell everyone you know about Pasha. Kids, especially, are really good at finding lost dogs -- be sure to let everyone know that our reward isn't just for adults; it will go to ANYONE who finds Pasha and gets him back to us!

Update 02/08: We have learned that Pasha was spotted on Thursday night on Robin Lane, running with two other dogs. Please, if you have seen Pasha, let us know! Even if it was a few days ago, knowing where he was will help us narrow our search. We need every bit of information we can find. While our reward applies only to someone who actually has Pasha and delivers him to us, we are offering a smaller reward to anyone whose tip leads us to find Pasha.
Update 02/07: There is another American Eskimo dog in Texarkana; he lives near Albertson's (on Melrose). If you see a dog that looks like Pasha, it may not be him -- however, please do your best to catch ANY white dog you see (even one with short hair - someone could have shaved Pasha to disguise him, then let him go!). Our $1,000 cash reward still stands, so it's worth the close look even if you're not sure it's Pasha!
Update 02/06, 3:15 pm CST: The Texarkana Gazette will not be able to run our 'lost dog' ad until TUESDAY. We need your help - please send this webpage to everyone you know in the Texarkana area, and tell your friends about Pasha so they can keep an eye out for him. As you can see from the photos, he's an unusually pretty dog and should be easy to spot as long as people know to look for him!
